How to Get More FPS in Fortnite (2021 Updated)

September 24, 2020 by Vishal Mehdwan

Fortnite is a Battle Royale game, and because of its massive world environment, some low-end devices are unable to give reasonable frame rates in-game, which will make you frustrated. With the updates, the game is getting much content, and there you will see a significant FPS drop in-game, especially if you are using a low-end device. In this detailed guide, we shared some methods with which you can get more FPS in Fortnite by just doing some tweaks with game settings.

3 Ways to Get More FPS in Fortnite

First of all, you don’t have to worry about the steps as we know most of the users reading this article might not be technical persons, and we will break down everything in small, manageable steps. We will also discuss some steps that streamers are using like Dety0, who is getting over 600 frame rates in the game.

Change the Video Settings

Video Settings plays an essential role in frame rates, and there are some settings I would recommend you to use in-game. Change the quality settings to custom and turn everything low except the view distance. As it’s a Battle Royale game with an open world, we need to look at distant places and use the draw distance at least normal or more. Also, set the 3D resolution to 100% as it will increase the resolution of objects in-game.

Next to this, we have Advance Video settings, and here are my recommendations about it.

Vsync: This option is used to eliminate the screen tearing and lock down the frame rates where your PC can easily handle it. Disabling this option can increase frame rates and good input response from users, so it’s good to turn off this option.

Multithreaded Rendering: Multithreaded Rendering uses more threads to do operations and dramatically increases the frame rates; however, if you are using old hardware, you might even get frame rate loss by enabling this option.

Turn Off Record Plays

One more thing to get some frame rate boost in Fortnite is to turn off record plays. The game records the gameplay, and it reduces the frame rates, but you can quickly turn this option from the in-game settings menu. Also, enabling this option takes much space on your hard drive, and it’s good to disable this option if you don’t need record gameplays.

Update to the Latest Chapter

The developers of this game are doing their best to fix all of the glitches and errors and optimize the game for new hardware. If you are facing low frame rates in-game and haven’t updated the game yet, I would recommend you to update the game to the latest version so you can enjoy it like others.

Final Words

That’s all how you can get more frame rates in games and can enjoy this game like others. You have to follow each step mentioned there and hope so you will get more FPS compared before.
